Team Fortress 2 – Is now free!!

Well if you are new to the gaming realm then allow me to explain what “Team Fortress 2” is – It is a first person shooter game that you can play on your PC/Xbox/PS3 .It is developed by the Valve Corporation, the same guys that brought you “Counter Strike” (and all its variants!).

I was sucker for counter strike during the college days. I used to play till the weeee hours of the morning. Then life happened and I just stopped playing, but now I have decided to kick start my gaming (passion? No that’s not my passion so what is? Anyway getting back to the topic at hand..). The problem was I didn’t know where to start, my counter strike game was *cough* .. .. misplaced, yeah misplaced.

And then it happened Valve being the most generous developers they already are, just woke up one day and told themselves “No! I am not being generous enough. So take this (Team Fortress 2 ) as well.” and voila the Team Fortress 2 was free to play for everyone for freaking eternity or until/if 2012 doomsday happens, whichever comes first.

Enough rambling, so about team fortress – its a team game, you can play as one of the nine classes – categorized into defensive, offensive and support roles – (voice of the announcer guy (what do you call that guy??) during a boxing match) “On the offensive corner we have *The Scout *The Solider and *The Pyro” *The audience goes wild* “On the defensive corner we have *The Demoman *The Engineer and *The Heavy” *The audience goes wild again* “And not last but not the least ladies and gentleman in the final category- support role we have *The Medic *The Sniper and *The Spy” *There is a cricket chirping somewhere*

I guess by now I have made it fairly obvious to which category I belong to, unless The Spy turns to be something like James Bond then I definitely will consider it and I was never very good at sniping.

All that is fine but “How is the gameplay?” you ask. I have no idea, currently the Steam is still downloading the game and it is about 10% complete (ETA is 1day 12hours, I need to get a better internet connection! **sigh** ).

If you are already playing this game then pop by and say hello! (that is after I finish downloading the game, it seems to suspend the download all by itself. Really knows how to piss off a guy)
